Pawns appear to be Resin. Pretty solid heavy pieces, red felt lined, with a few cracked pieces. Please zoom in to see all pictures for flaws since I had to collage them to fit everything.
No Backgammon pieces included.
The lid is meant to be detachable.

The felt lining is slightly color faded and has some normal fuzzing for age.
The outside of the box has some flaws.
There is a spot on the top corner missing the resin which looks like it happened while sealing it, there are chips, scuffs, and cracks. I’m not certain what the board is made from but it looks like undied Onyx and black marble however, it’s impossible to tell for certain because of the sealant they poured over it. I’m dating this to the late 60’s, early 70’s based on the hardware.
