This is an incredible piece . It’s natural aged wood and the stain on the wood that is fading. Makes it look gorgeous.  throughout the years, my grandfather reinforced it with some metal pieces and kept sending it down and staining it. So there are numerous layers of brown, black, and even gold staining.  There are two metal hinges on one side, and it opens and closes with two strong magnets. 
On the inside, there is a cushioned burlap material that allows you to hang things inside of it with thumbtacks or pins. The box is 2 inches thick so you can add a lot of items inside. It’s 15 x 12” so it’s huge! There’s a real piece of glass on the door. I hope this finds a good home. It’s a bit rough around the edges. The back of the shadowbox has some staples where my grandfather put a cardboard backing. It also has a makeshift wire hanger that can be easily removed.  This would make a great projects to refurbish but I think it looks amazing the way it is.
