Small but of great historical value, this lapel pin was worn by those who fought for or supported the German Troops during World War I.
This WWI iron cross (in German, Eisernes Kreuz) insignia has a secure C-clasp closure.
**Historical aside: The Iron Cross was designed by the neoclassical architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel and reflects the cross worn by the Teutonic Knights in the fourteenth century.**
